Alien + Q&A
This screening of Ridley Scott’s 1979 science fiction classic will mark the director’s eighty-fifth birthday; he was born in November 1937. We’ll be joined afterwards by Ivor Powell, the Associate Producer of his first three feature films, including Alien, of course, for an interview and an audience Q&A.
As well as Ridley Scott’s debut film, The Duellists, and Alien, Ivor Powell worked with him on Blade Runner. He co-wrote and co-produced Finch, the post-apocalyptic 2021 film starring Tom Hanks for Apple TV+. The late sixties saw him as a publicist and an effects coordinator for Stanley Kubrick on 2001: A Space Odyssey and as assistant director on two Carry On films. Ivor has also contributed to various documentaries and short films.
